Hook up lights to subs I am saying is it should be kept a separate circuit whichever way you do it. You can code it to make them blink to the music, light up for the ammount of sound coming out, or code your own light show with them Remote; connect the REM wire to a fuse that only has power when the car is on.

Subwoofers are used in most home theater systems, but subs can also radically improve the sound of stereo systems -- and not just the ones with small speakers. Subs can provide a foundation to the sound that few speakers can muster on their own. So adding a sub is not just about adding more and deeper bass; rather, a properly integrated subwoofer can improve the overall sound of the system. Subwoofer connection to a two-channel system differs from the methods used in home theaters. AV receivers feature bass management to direct the low bass frequencies to the sub and the midrange and treble frequencies to the speakers.

It sounds like you believe that the lights need to be hooked up to the amplifier in order to work with the music. However, according to the type of lights you have; they may have the features on how they work built into them already. For example, my lights are operated through a small switch box. This box allows me to turn on and off the lights as I wish by hand.
A sub woofer or two in a vehicle can make the world of difference in listening to music. It is very important to match the RMS of your subs to your amp. You want an amp more powerful than your sub, because you don't want your sub to clip. Clipping is the number one reason of bass distortion.

My problem is hook up lights to subs the amp is putting out watts to each sub. I'm not sure what to do in order to regulate the wattage going to the lights so they don't burn out and burst.
